According to a field test conducted by Petron R&D, vehicles using Petron Turbo Diesel achieved an impressive average improvement of 16.4% in fuel efficiency. The five-day performance run was meticulously observed and certified by representatives from the Department of Energy – Energy Utilization Management Bureau, the Automobile Association of the Philippines, and the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalists.
During the test, twelve vehicles, all loaded to their rated capacity, were subjected to real-world driving conditions on a 258km route. This route traversed the mountainous and winding provincial roads of Bataan and the rolling terrain of the Clark to Subic section of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). The fielded vehicles comprised various types of diesel engines, including SUVs, pickups, vans, MPVs, and luxury vehicles, from different manufacturers.
The test began with the establishment of benchmark fuel efficiency data and driver ratings using regular diesel. Then, the same route was traversed again, but this time the vehicles were fueled with Petron Turbo Diesel from a regular service station pump. After the first fill, over half of the test vehicles achieved an average distance gain of 11.9%. After the second fill with Petron Turbo Diesel, the test vehicles significantly improved their fuel efficiency, gaining an average of 16.4% additional distance per liter.
These results demonstrate that most diesel engine vehicles, regardless of their age, can benefit from improved fuel efficiency with the continued use of Petron Turbo Diesel.
Additionally, the test drivers were asked to rate their driving experience using regular diesel and Petron Turbo Diesel. The drivers’ perception aligned with the fuel efficiency gains, as they reported experiencing continuous daily improvements in engine response, engine power, and acceleration while using Petron Turbo Diesel.
In particular, the test drivers found the following statements to have the most significant improvement:
- Engine response: I can feel immediate engine response going uphill even after a slowdown on a sharp curve.
- Engine power: Driving at a steady pace is smooth with no loss of power.
- Acceleration: I can feel the power on demand when I step on the accelerator.
The performance run conclusively confirmed the remarkable qualities of Petron Turbo Diesel, establishing it as a high-performance and technologically-advanced fuel.
