There is a sense of security provided by a pioneer in a certain field. Maintaining dominance for the longest time is a sure sign that you’re in good care. You can never put a price on safety. Quality should never be compromised.
Safety will always be connected to the name Philippine Airlines. PAL or Philippine Airlines is the flag carrier of the Philippines and the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia.
To celebrate PAL’s 76th anniversary, they are holding a 3-day expo which showcases the PAL experience. A colossal move they recently did is tying up with Globe Telecom, the leading and major provider of telecommunications services in the Philippines. Unbeatable partnership by two giants in their industries, I must say.
Innovations are featured in PAL and Globe’s expo. An alliance of names with unparalleled service and technology can only mean one thing: raise the industry standard in which clearly, the customer is the beneficiary. Just the thought of it will make you want to plan your trips ahead of time and book a flight ASAP.
PAL just acquired two additional Boeing 777-300ERs arriving this year. Viewers of the expo will be having a 360 tour of the said plane. The Boeing 777 or commonly referred to as the “Triple Seven” is the world’s largest twinjet, and is powered by the most powerful jet engine. Also in 2017 is the purchase of Q400 Nextgen, the world’s most modern Turboprop, which will be dedicated for domestic flight services. Also among the purchase is the Airbus A321 which has a wide cabin allowing wider seats and a more comfortable flight and the Airbus A350 which uses extremely strong and lightweight materials making it a durable and reliable aircraft. Both the A350 and A321 are for international flights by 2018.
This June of 2017, flights to Honolulu though the reconfigured Airbus A330s will get everyone excited. Philippine Airlines will convert the cabin lay-out of eight monoclass 414-seater A330-300s into a 309-seater tri-class model with Business, Premium Economy and Economy class sections. That translates to a wider cabin making each and every flight pleasant, comfortable and convenient.
The A330s also has a feature on business class which is the Pneumatic Comfort System or PCS that allows seat firmness to be adjusted by the passenger according to preference, plus the massage function. PAL is the first Asian carrier to offer the PCS.
In-seat monitors called myPAL esuite are upgraded and will be seen in the A330s. What’s more interesting is it can now work as a direct messaging function from the crew. A dedicated function for the kids called “little PALs” will be there as well among many other new functions .
Aside from the employees, planes are the heart of an airline and indeed, PAL never settles for anything less.
More flights are now available for passengers: Manila to Kuala Lumpur, from Cebu to General Santos, Surigao, Puerto Princesa and Coron and from Clark, to Puerto Princesa and Coron and can be booked by logging in to philippineairlines.com or via Swingaround tour packages at swingaround.philippineairlines.com.
Attendees of the 3-day expo will get an exclusive discount of up to 15% to selected flights if you are a Globe subscriber. Neat, huh?
#ForTheLoveOfMiles is the new Mabuhay Miles campaign. Free flights can now be earned when you Fly, Shop, Dine, Drive, and Unwind. Earning points is now easy.
In the said event, free 250 Bonus Miles is offered by Globe and all I need to is sign up. So it’s true, the best things in life are free!
Among the many surprises prepared by Globe and Mabuhay Miles this 2017, the Traveler SIM will be launched. Included in the SIM are 500 Mabuhay Miles, unlimited calls to Globe and TM, 20 AllNet SMS, and 15MB of mobile data for one day.
Now, a sample computation of your cargo can now be possible. It will be based on the cargo needs and it will be helpful for a fast approximation.
The Heart of the Nation Inflight Safety Video is a crowdsourced safety video which is a first. This is a new approach to inflight safety and it is uniquely done! PAL is creating an experiential Safety Challenge to promote Safety advocacy.
Among the activities in the expo, a series of challenges tested our knowledge. This was done after viewing the inflight safety video presented by PAL. It is called Safety Zones and special prizes will be provided for participants who can complete the tasks. Up for grabs were free round trip domestic flights for the minor prizes and international flights for major prizes.
Philippine Airlines has played a part in many people’s ‘Stories’ spanning seven decades now. They are stories of pride, hope, adventure, convenience, and promise. The newest campaign ‘Stories from the Heart’ encompasses narratives of people who work/ed for the company, their benefactors, and the passengers. Stories they tell are their experiences of service which can only be uniquely provided by the Heart of the Filipino.
In the video shown to us, one of Philippine Airlines’ pilots is featured and her story is about turning her back from modeling in the exchange for a life of being a PAL flight Attendant. The story does not end there. Captain Yvonne Sunga is now a pilot. A lot of kids dream to be a pilot and even though I was not one of them, it also encouraged me to pursue what I always wanted to be. For most of us, our childhood dreams change eventually but watching the flick made me feel like pursuing my passion.
Do not forget to visit the expo on Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater, Taguig City from the 25th to the 26th of March 25 – 26, 2017. The PAL experience is now at your finger tips.
