The influential online group marks their third anniversary with a bazaar extravaganza featuring more than 30 merchants in the home improvement, décor, and design category
Home Buddies, a revered community of Filipino home enthusiasts, is commemorating its third anniversary with a special bazaar event that showcases both established and emerging local brands in the realm of home improvement, décor, and design.
Titled the Home Buddies Bazaar, this event features a thoughtfully curated collection of essential furniture, household discoveries, and decorative items that embody the online community’s ethos of stylish, budget-friendly shopping.
Founder Frances Lim Cabatuando, affectionately known as ‘Mayora’ among Home Buddies’ dedicated social media followers, expressed, “It’s our first independent event, so we have no boundaries. We’re bringing in exceptional home brands, starting with our co-presenters Tough Mama, PLDT Home, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay. We’re also collaborating with major home professional organizations like the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) and the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) to offer free home consultations for our neighbors!”
At Home Buddies Bazaar, attendees can bring their Pinterest-inspired ideas to life through specialized booths and shops. The event will host more than 30 home and living vendors, sure to awaken the inner “budol” (impulse buying) in everyone. It also serves as the first official “grand eyeball” of the growing online community, which boasts more than 3.2 million Facebook followers to date.
Mayora elaborated, “We just want to celebrate the community and enable its members to meet in person, as it is now safer to do so. I’m sure in one way or another, we’ve all influenced each other’s lives. We want to emphasize that the online group isn’t just a Facebook community; it’s a tangible, thriving community that assists Filipinos in enhancing their homes.”
This one-day extravaganza will unfold at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay’s activity center in Pasay City on October 1, 2023. Beyond the extensive lineup of home improvement merchants and booths, the inaugural Home Buddies Bazaar will feature on-stage segments, games, activities, and performances. Headlining the event are alternative rock icons Barbie Almalbis and Sandwich, along with up-and-coming acts like I See Bees, New York Heights, Raven and the Papis, and Sofia Carpizo.
Home Buddies Bazaar is co-presented by PLDT Home, Tough Mama, and Ayala Malls, with support from partners GNN Entertainment Productions, the 210.ph, MStudio, NYMA, UAP, and PICE.
