The esteemed Hashtag Asia Awards has unveiled its 2024 finalists, featuring prominent talents from NYMA, including “Lumpia Queen” Abi Marquez, beauty influencer Adelina Eugenio, compelling storyteller and cycling advocate Lester “Buji” Babiera, and versatile artist Raco Ruiz. Marquez’s viral Kanto-Style Fried Chicken Recipe on TikTok is nominated for “Best Campaign by a Mega Influencer,” alongside Eugenio’s Luxe Organix’s Salt Scrub review and Babiera’s advocacy-driven video for Verde Island Passage protection. Ruiz’s #ChickenCheck video is in contention for ‘Best Campaign by a Macro Influencer.”
NYMA, a talent management agency, aims to propel Filipino talent onto the global stage, boasting a roster that includes stars like Kristel Fulgar, Christian Bautista, and Pat Tingjuy.
Expressing gratitude for the nomination, Babiera, known for his horror “Storytime” videos, emphasized his commitment to storytelling and advocacy on TikTok. “I’m privileged and honored that I’ve gained a following where people listen to what I say,” he shared, acknowledging NYMA for their support.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for May 3 at the InterContinental Singapore, where Marquez, Eugenio, and Babiera will compete against digital stars like C-pop singer Tia Lee and fitness influencer Pamela Reif. Ruiz is up against Hong Kong boy band MIRROR, model-actor Jeffrey Ngai, and Indonesian gaming star Rachael Melati Nalapraya for the Best Campaign by a Macro Influencer prize.
Ruiz expressed humility at being recognized alongside industry greats, highlighting the joy of creating content that resonates with audiences. Eugenio described her nomination as unbelievable, while Marquez celebrated her recent win at the 28th Webby Awards People’s Voice Winner in the General Social: Food & Drink category.
These talents, along with others like Frances Cabatuando, Kristel Fulgar, Christian Bautista, and Pat Tingjuy, form part of NYMA’s mission to elevate Filipino talent globally.
