In today’s world, music has become an integral part of our lives. From entertainment to inspiration, music has always been there to make us feel something, even when words fail. On May 2, 2023, two of the most talented musical artists of our time, Myke Salomon and Stanley Seludo, came together to share their experiences and insights on music production and creation through the Arts Online: Talk series, joined by Toni Go of Tanghalang Pilipino.
Myke Salomon is a man of many talents, having worked as a Musical Director, Arranger, Record Producer, Song Writer, Film Scorer, and Actor. His works have been recognized as some of the most significant contributions to the Philippine musical scene, such as Rak of Aegis, Mula Sa Buwan, and Ang Huling El Bimbo. Meanwhile, Stanley Seludo is a producer and recording artist, a member of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Board of Trustees, and a Board Member of Asosasyon ng Musikong Pilipino. He is also a drummer of BRWN/Paolo Santos Trio, a band that has received numerous accolades and recognition for their music.
During the session, Salomon and Seludo discussed their individual journeys into the music industry and their experiences in music production. They provided insights into the creative process of producing music, from composing and arranging to recording and releasing music. They also shared their personal techniques and strategies in producing quality music.
The session is particularly helpful for students and teachers who want to learn more about music production and creation. The Arts Online: Talk series, which is part of CCP Arts Education and CCP Online, aims to promote and enhance the arts education of students and the public in general.
Overall, the session was an excellent opportunity for music enthusiasts and aspiring music producers to learn from two of the most accomplished musical artists in the Philippines. It is a testament to the power of music in our lives, and how it can bring people together to share their experiences and insights, even through online platforms like Arts Online: Talk. As they say, “when words fail, music speaks.”
