Full Potential Solutions, OP360, and other locators set foot in Damosa Land developments to boost employment
Damosa Land, a renowned sustainable real estate developer in Mindanao, is actively contributing to the economic growth of the Davao region. The company’s Damosa Diamond Tower within the Damosa IT Park is welcoming the expansion of multinational business process outsourcing (BPO) firms and investors, which will generate more jobs and enhance local talent among Davaoenos.
One of the latest BPO companies to establish its presence in the Damosa Diamond Tower is Full Potential Solutions (FPS), a performance-based outsourcing firm with operations in the Philippines, India, Colombia, and the USA. During the company’s recruitment hub launch in November 2022, FPS announced its plan to hire 1,000 more employees in the coming years, citing their belief in the talent and potential of the people in Davao. Fit-out is now ongoing on the 12th floor of Damosa Diamond Tower for their additional 1,600 sqm office space.
Earlier in 2022, the Damosa Diamond Tower also welcomed OfficePartners 360, a global outsourcing company that will operate its second and biggest site in Davao City. With over a thousand seats, OP360 plans to occupy four floors in DDT that could generate as many as 1,500 jobs in the coming years. They are set to start their operations in the second quarter of 2023. “We knew that we made the right choice in investing in Davao,” said Atty. Tess Tan, director for Legal and Compliance of OP360.
Sitel Business Services Corporation, a leading global provider of customer experience (CX) solutions, has signed a deal with Damosa Land to expand its operations in the Damosa Diamond Tower. The expansion is expected to take place this year, and the deal was finalized before the end of 2022. The move is set to further boost the economic productivity of Davao as Sitel is a major player in the CX industry worldwide. With their presence in Damosa Diamond Tower, Sitel is expected to generate employment opportunities for the local workforce.
In the first half of 2022, Damosa Land launched the Damosa Diamond Tower (DDT), a 16-storey premium office building in Mindanao that promotes “green architecture.” It is the first high-end office development in the region to receive an Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) certification for its efficient use of energy, water, and construction materials.
Recently, the Philippine Green Building Council awarded DDT its Berde Certification, which attests to its green features, further highlighting its sustainable design. The building has also received recognition as the Best Office Architectural Design in 2019 and Best Office Development in 2020 by the Philippines Property Awards.
Damosa Land President Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo expresses his positivity, saying, “Aside from delivering our promise of providing sustainable real estate properties in the area, our developments in Damosa Land can also support Davao talent by accommodating multinational companies like Full Potential Solutions, OP360, and Sitel within the Damosa Diamond Tower. We are excited to work with these firms that share our belief in the potential of our region and its people.”
Supplementing growth and movement in Davao
Outsourcing companies in the Philippines have expanded beyond Metro Manila and into emerging markets outside the city, according to Leechiu Property Consultants. The IT-BPM sector has experienced significant growth in areas such as Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Pampanga, and Laguna, resulting in the creation of over 70,000 new jobs outside Metro Manila. The Davao region, in particular, posted a 96.5% employment rate in October 2022, higher than the national employment rate of 95.5%, indicating promising growth opportunities in the area.
Damosa Complex, located in the heart of Lanang, is home to several of Damosa Land’s commercial properties that attract locators from various industries. One noteworthy property is the Damosa IT Park – Southern Mindanao’s first PEZA-registered IT facility. It is a two-hectare district consisting of three information technology buildings, a data center, and a commercial and utility area. To support the need for more job opportunities, top IT-enabled service providers and corporate spaces such as Concentrix, SGV, and Regus are based in the Damosa IT Park.
Damosa Land has recently attracted Starbucks Philippines to invest in Davao, as the coffee chain sees potential in the region. Starbucks opened its first drive-through branch in Mindanao within the Damosa Complex earlier this year. Damosa Land is committed to developing real estate properties that support economic growth and showcase the culture and potential of Mindanao. The company aims to attract more investors to the region and promote it both locally and internationally.
