Among the grandest festivals in the Philippines is the Kadayawan Festival in Davao. Held annually in August, it serves as a profound expression of gratitude, celebrating bountiful harvests, the magnificence of nature, and the city’s profound history and cultural heritage.
In the year 2023, the festival marked its 38th anniversary under the theme “Colors of Abundance, Vibrance of Diversity, Festival of Festivals, the ‘Pag-abli sa Kadayawan.” Spanning from August 10th to the 20th, this edition of the festival witnessed a remarkable resurgence, drawing visitors from far and wide to partake in its diverse range of events and festivities. From the enchanting opening ceremony bursting with color and life to high-energy concerts and an immersive cultural exposition showcasing the essence of the entire city, Kadayawan 2023 captivated the hearts of both locals and festival enthusiasts.
One notable visitor who graced the festival was Miss Universe Philippines 2023, Michelle Marquez Dee. She enthusiastically participated in the exciting activities organized by PLDT Home as part of the Kadayawan festivities, joining festival-goers in the joyous celebration. Additionally, she took time to explore various festival areas and engaged in meet-and-greet sessions with her devoted fans at prominent PLDT-Smart Ponciano Store, PLDT Home booths at NCCC Mall VP, and the main PLDT Home booth located in Magsaysay Park.
