In a special episode of “Metro Home” airing this Saturday, August 17, at 7 PM on the Metro Channel, hosts Anton Barretto and Jessica Kienle Maxwell explore the rich flavors of Spanish cuisine at Asador Alfonso, one of the most talked-about dining spots outside the metro.
Viewers will be treated to a culinary journey featuring Asador Alfonso’s exquisite dishes, including carabinero, roasted lamb, jamon, and the irresistible Flan de Teresa.
Originally a private family retreat in Lava Rock, Alfonso, Cavite, Asador Alfonso was envisioned by contemporary architect Carlo Calma and Chef Chele Gonzalez as a way to connect people with nature. What began as a simple dining spot for family and friends during the pandemic evolved into a full-fledged restaurant after they introduced a traditional roasting oven from Spain.
The restaurant not only offers fine dining but also features volcanic-inspired modern architecture, creating a unique destination experience. It includes walk-through villas, a pool area, and even serves as a temporary refuge for migratory birds.
