Beyond Beauty, that is the theme of Binibining Pilipinas this 2019, going beyond what is visible to the naked eye is what they are aiming, they want Queens who aren’t just Beautiful, but also with substance.
This year a well diversed and empowered women have taken the challenge to get atleast one ot the 6 crowns at stake in this year’s pageant, and one of them is Dia Nicole Mancao Magno.
Dia (short for Diamond) is 25 years old, stands at around 5’5″ tall and representing Butuan in CARAGA. She is a graduate of Interdisciplinary Studies from the Ateneo De Manila University, where she was also an athlete, she played for the Ateneo Blue Shuttlers in the UAAP and has represented the Philippines in different competition abroad.
Dia wasn’t a favorite when she submitted her application for Binibini, she received tons of bashing from pageant fans when she took a spot in the top 40, saying that she isn’t a Binibini Material, but that didn’t stop Dia as it only fueled her drive to make it big in this year’s pageant.
Backed up with a concrete advocacy that is geared toward education through sports as a former athlete Dia aims to teach children the sports she loved which is badminton because she believe that through sports, many children will be alleviated from all the burdens in the society, also Dia served as an inspiration to people who are having a hard time losing weight as she just lost 65lbs prior to joining the pageant.
She may not be the most beautiful or the sexiest Binibini in this batch, but her strong personality and will to prove everyone they are wrong, I believe that Dia is that girl that will perfectly define the meaning of Beyond Beauty.
