Following the tremendous success of its inaugural Tour de McDo, McDonald’s Philippines proudly presents the second edition of this community bike ride in honor of World Bicycle Day. This latest event brought together multiple cycling communities and personalities simultaneously in three prominent locations across the country: Pampanga, Intramuros, and Tagaytay.

Tour de McDo is part of McDonald’s Green and Good campaign, an initiative dedicated to implementing sustainable and alternative solutions in their restaurants and operations. By organizing Tour de McDo, McDonald’s aims to inspire its customers to adopt healthier lifestyles for themselves and the environment. The event also showcases various scenic cycling routes that conveniently pass through McDonald’s stores equipped with bike-friendly features.

Earlier this year, the first round of Tour de McDo highlighted McDonald’s fifth flagship Green and Good store, located in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa. This store, known as McDonald’s Nuvali, is the company’s 700th store nationwide and stands out for its bike-friendly amenities, energy-efficient solutions, and green building practices. In addition to its sustainable restaurant innovations, the strategic location of McDonald’s Nuvali makes it an ideal pit stop for the vibrant cycling community in the Nuvali area.

Due to the overwhelming success and high demand from cycling communities, the second edition of Tour de McDo now offers three new picturesque routes catering to different cycling levels. The beginner route covers Manila and Intramuros, spanning 20 kilometers. The intermediate route takes participants through Clark, Pampanga, covering 34 kilometers. Lastly, the advanced route leads cyclists to Tagaytay, covering an impressive 48 kilometers.

With nearly 100 participants joining the event, each cyclist received a complimentary Tour de McDo kit, which included an exclusive Tour de McDo Dri Fit shirt, limited-edition stickers, and a McDonald’s breakfast meal.

“For a long time, our McDonald’s stores have served as important pit stops for various cycling events. This presented an opportunity for us to align our customers’ interests with our commitment to environmental sustainability through our Green and Good campaign. By promoting sustainable active mobility through Tour de McDo, we aim to inspire more individuals to embrace cycling, thereby collectively reducing CO2 emissions,” shared Kenneth S. Yang, President and CEO of McDonald’s Philippines.

The featured McDonald’s stores along the different routes include McDonald’s Quirino Mabini, McDonald’s Clark CM Recto Pampanga, McDonald’s Porac Pampanga, McDonald’s Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, and McDonald’s Delos Reyes in Tagaytay. These stores offer bike-friendly amenities such as a Bike & Dine facility, allowing cyclists to dine while keeping their bikes secure. Additionally, dedicated Bike Repair Stations have been set up at these locations, providing free access to tools for basic repairs.
