A group of MBA students from Columbia Business School embarked on a journey from New York to Manila as part of their MBA course, “Global Immersion: Philippines: Asia’s Rising Tiger.” Their itinerary included visits to various companies across the country, with ABS-CBN being one of the highlights.
At ABS-CBN, the graduate students delved into the company’s evolution from a traditional broadcasting network to a global storytelling entity. Guided by Prof. Medini Singh, they engaged in insightful conversations with key figures such as Raymund Miranda, a management consultant, Francis Toral, the head of news, and Kane Errol Choa, the head of corporate communications. These discussions shed light on the transformations ABS-CBN has undergone and the challenges it has encountered since 2020.
Following their learning sessions, the ABS-CBN Corporate Communications team provided a behind-the-scenes studio tour for the students and Prof. Singh, who also had the opportunity to join the live studio audience of “It’s Showtime.” Additionally, the class witnessed a live newscast of ANC’s “Dateline Philippines.”
Prof. Singh expressed optimism about the educational value of the visit, stating, “Our students will benefit greatly from this immersive experience in the Philippines, gaining invaluable insights into the media landscape.”
