Maya and LRMC unveil convenient and seamless end-to-end QR ticketing system for LRT-1 commuters

The LRT-1 QR Ticketing system, officially launched today, revolutionizes the way commuters travel by allowing them to purchase single journey LRT-1 QR tickets through the Maya app and seamlessly scan the generated QR ticket at dedicated “Fast Lane” turnstiles located at all LRT-1 stations.

Commuters can easily purchase LRT-1 QR tickets through the Maya app. The QR tickets remain valid for 24 hours from the date of purchase and can be utilized at all LRT-1 stations from Baclaran to Monumento, including the north line extension encompassing Balintawak and Roosevelt stations along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).

Here is a simple step-by-step guide:

Open your Maya app and navigate to the Services section.
Select the LRT-1 tile under the Lifestyle category.
Choose your desired route (Northbound or Southbound) and set both the origin and destination.
Click on Pay Now. Your QR ticket will be instantly generated.
Conveniently scan your QR ticket using the turnstile QR scanners at LRT-1 stations.

**Commuters scanning at the Maya Fast Lane Turnstile**. These “Fast Lanes” ensure a faster journey to their destinations, further enhancing the overall commuting experience. It also promotes public health and safety with contactless transactions.

To incentivize commuters, Maya is providing a special offer of one free LRT-1 ride per month, per customer, in the form of cashback vouchers. LRMC’s ikotMNL app, a first-of-its-kind in the Philippine railway industry, also allows the purchase of LRT-1 QR Tickets powered by Beep.
