8 new real-life love stories will be brought to life once more as ABS-CBN’s digital anthology ‘Love Bites’ returns to the digital screens for a 2nd season which will be streamed starting on April 28.
Following the success of the first season, ‘Love Bites’ Season 2 will feature a new set of rising Kapamilya stars to portray diverse life stories in a ‘bite-sized’ episode format. This season also revealed that the episodes were shot in Oriental Mindoro.
In a media conference on Thursday hosted by DJ Jhaiho, here lies the list of pairings and episodes announced for the new season respectively:
– Ian Pangilinan and Kim Rodriguez (Wedding Dress)
– Iana Bernardez and Aya Fernandez (Stand In Love)
– Angela Ken and LA Santos (Boy-Next-Door)
– Kaila Estrada, Chie Filomeno, and Joao Constancia (Closure)
– Batit Espiritu and Daniella Stranner (Summer Camp)
– Enzo Almario and Jay Gonzaga (Boy Meets Man)
– Anji Salvacion and Elyson De Dios (Wedding Booth)
– Majoy Apostol and Jomari Angeles (Honest Love)
Actress Iana Bernardez, one of the cast members, was asked about the importance of the LGBTQIA+ representation on the show; Iana responded that every story to tell must be bound with utmost truth and authenticity.
‘It also play an important role in empowering our viewers and audiences, kasi we will always have people watching you na, shocks, kailan kaya nila makkwento ‘yung kwento ko; tapos pag napanood mo, uy pwede pala…yan pala ako. So you get to identify yourself with the character and I think that’s the most important as an actress, is the authenticity in portraying the story.’ she reiterated.
A first timer in lead roles, singer Enzo Almario also answered the same question; and was thankful for the production for giving the chance to tell the stories of the LGBTQ+ community.
‘Nakakatuwa kasi, hindi lang BL, may GL…and ito ay napaka-importante ikwento kasi nangyari siya and..nakaka-challenge ‘din kasi you have to stick to the character. Sobrang thankful ako kasi at least nagiging way na yung ganitong klaseng shows para ikwento ang storya namin’ Enzo emphasized.
On the other hand, actor Ian Pangilinan expressed that the essence of bringing real-life stories into the show sets this project apart from the other ones he has been in.
‘I think it’s also, same with MMK, its coming from very very real people, and one of the things na ginawa namin pre-prod, which is very interesting, we have to read kung ano yung actual story nila…so how will you portray that and how you will do justice to the real people doing this…’ he stated
Take another bite into love this summer as ‘Love Bites’ will be streamed via Youtube, releasing new episodes every Friday, 6PM on the ABS-CBN Entertainment Channel.
