Jollibee’s new store in Enrile Boulevard houses green technologies

Jollibee welcomes customers to its newest store in Tuguegarao

Jollibee has officially expanded its presence in Northern Luzon with the opening of its newest store on Enrile Boulevard, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, in early November. This milestone not only marks another addition to the beloved quick-service restaurant’s growing footprint but also reinforces its commitment to sustainability by integrating green technologies—ensuring customers can enjoy their favorite meals with a smaller environmental impact.

“We’re thrilled to bring more joy to Tuguegarao with the opening of our new store,” said Jon Villanueva, VP-Restaurant Systems of Jollibee Philippines. “Beyond serving the best-tasting food, we are dedicated to building a more sustainable future, one joyful meal at a time. Jollibee Enrile Boulevard reflects our ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact, featuring an array of green technologies that align with our sustainability goals.”

A Commitment to Green Technologies

Jollibee Enrile Boulevard incorporates a range of innovative solutions designed to reduce waste and maximize renewable energy use. Many of these technologies have already been successfully implemented in select Jollibee stores nationwide.

Key features include solar panels, which cut energy consumption by up to 30%, and a solar water heater to power kitchen operations. Solar window films help regulate indoor temperatures by repelling external heat, while high-efficiency motors optimize the exhaust system and ensure a fresh air supply in the kitchen. These features are particularly beneficial for 24/7 operations, allowing the store to conserve energy during non-peak hours.

Jollibee Enrile Boulevard is a testament to the brand’s ongoing efforts to marry great food with environmental responsibility, delivering joy to customers while contributing to a greener future.

Switching to LED pylon lights is another significant step for Jollibee Enrile Boulevard, reducing energy consumption by at least 80%. The store also incorporates light motion sensors and automatic low-flow faucets in its restrooms, ensuring energy and water conservation when not in use. Additionally, a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility allows the use of treated, recycled water for toilet flushing. Even rainwater is put to good use through a water recycling system, repurposed for tasks such as watering plants and cleaning the store’s exterior.

Joy for Tomorrow

These features highlight Jollibee Enrile Boulevard’s commitment to minimizing its environmental footprint while maintaining operational efficiency to serve customers better. These initiatives are part of the Jollibee Group’s broader “Joy for Tomorrow” sustainability agenda, which focuses on three pillars: Food, People, and Planet.

“As we expand and open more stores across the Philippines, we aim to deliver the same joyful experiences while anchoring our efforts in sustainability,” said Bong Filart, VP-Network Development of Jollibee Philippines. “By doing so, we can positively impact the environment and the community while continuing to bring joy to Filipinos,” he added.
