Last week of May 2016, blogger friends and I was invited to try out the Baby Back Ribs at Luna J Filipino Gastropub at the Il Terrazo Mall in Timog, Quezon City.
Looking at the menu board outside, I got excited already because it was looking good and only Php 250 for a good size portion.
But before the main event, we were served the deliciously looking Sisig Nachos (Php 195). Something was uniquely flavoring the sisig toppings. We were informed that it was also flavored with Lee Kum Kee sauce.
Baby Back Ribs
Now for the main event, the baby back ribs!
It really looked delicious on the actual platting with 2 slabs stack together oozing with what looks to be a great sauce.
After trying it, I was not disappointed. The meat so tender and so easy to eat. The taste was different from the typical baby ribs that I have tried. It was not that smoky but still tasty. So what is this new flavor that excite my palette?
I ask the staff of Luna J and they said that it was marinated and basted with the Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand Oyster Sauce. The secret ingredient of the recipe of this tasty baby back ribs.
The oyster sauce used instead of your typical barbecue marinade/sauce made this yummy taste of the grilled. It is a bit on the salty side but is easily balanced with mashed potato or rice. Of course, it will be definitely serve as a good “pulutan”.
