LOST IN SPACE
The growing attraction to the “Lost in Space” robot is a bit more of a surprise considering the Netflix science-fiction series is geared towards a family-friendly demographic. It turns out the more light-hearted tone has done nothing to prevent the robot from becoming the desire of the internet. The attraction to the robot is so strong that Netflix posted a one-minute video reacting in confusion to the trend.
In “Lost in Space,” which Netflix has been marketing heavily, Will Robinson and the Robot form an unexpected, unbreakable bond that could mean the difference between life and death for the Robinsons.
“Lost in Space,” one of Netflix’s newest high-profile original series, drew 6.3 million U.S. viewers within the first three days of its release earlier this month, according to Nielsen.
SANTA CLARITA (SEASON 2)
Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet loves people. That’s unusual for a zombie narrative. Most zombie narratives present people as lurching, decaying, cannibalistic monsters. Misanthropy, paranoia, and loathing have been central to the modern zombie genre since George Romero first gleefully showed humans leaping for each other’s throats, even before they got turned into zombies. Zombies are people, people are zombies, and all of them are just worm food with insatiable appetites.
The show is rumored to be one of Netflix’s best-performing comedies, though because the service doesn’t release viewing numbers, it’s difficult to say for sure.
A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS
Season 2
In episodes 1 and 2, “The Austere Academy“, the children cope with life at a boarding school called Prufrock Preparatory School run by Vice Principal Nero.
In episodes 3 and 4, “The Ersatz Elevator“, the children are sent to live with a wealthy couple named Jerome Squalor and Esmé Squalor living in the penthouse of a tall apartment building.
In episodes 5 and 6, “The Vile Village“, the children are sent to live with an insane village obsessed with crows and the idea of burning people to death.
In episodes 7 and 8, “The Hostile Hospital“, the children take refugee in a half-built hospital while trying to research V.F.D. After Violet is caught, Klaus and Sunny must act to prevent Violet from undergoing unnecessary surgery.
In episodes 9 and 10, “The Carnivorous Carnival“, the children masquerade as carnival freaks at the Caligari Carnival to hide from Olaf.
