Key highlights from this year’s report include initiatives to promote the adoption of new energy vehicles, the establishment of short, medium, and long-term goals aimed at achieving a net-zero target, and robust support for driver partners.
Operating across 11 markets and serving over 13.4 million users and 1.2 million driver partners, Lalamove prioritizes the needs of various stakeholders and partners, including small and medium-sized enterprises, driver partners, employees, and local communities. Leveraging technology to bolster logistics efficiency and meet diverse delivery demands, Lalamove offers a range of services tailored to the requirements of its stakeholders and partners.
Bill Li, Director of Corporate Affairs at Lalamove, expressed enthusiasm about the release of the report, particularly in light of Lalamove’s recent tenth anniversary. “As we embark on the next decade, we are pleased to present our latest annual sustainability report,” Li stated. “Aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, this report comprehensively outlines our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, underscoring our unwavering commitment to these values.”
Li further highlighted Lalamove’s implementation of an internal greenhouse gas (GHG) emission management system and the voluntary disclosure of the company’s GHG data in 2023. “This system not only facilitates ongoing monitoring of our carbon emissions but also empowers us to develop more effective carbon reduction strategies,” Li explained. “Given that emissions from vehicles on our platform constitute a significant portion of our business’ carbon footprint, this initiative holds particular importance in our sustainability efforts.”
With a strong emphasis on environmental and economic advantages, Lalamove remains committed to actively promoting the adoption of new energy vehicles among its platform drivers worldwide. This initiative took flight in mainland China, where an impressive 50% of van orders over the past year were fulfilled using new energy vehicles.
Furthermore, Lalamove is incentivizing more drivers in the country to make the switch to energy-efficient vehicles by offering exclusive discounts on electric vehicle charging facilities, insurance, and vehicle maintenance services.
In its 2023 Sustainability Report, Lalamove outlines a comprehensive set of short-, medium-, and long-term goals aimed at achieving net zero emissions and significantly reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to pave the way for a greener future.
By 2025, Lalamove aims to achieve paperless operations, divert 30% of waste away from landfills, and ensure that all hazardous waste is disposed of by qualified collectors or recyclers.
In the medium term, the company is targeting net zero emissions across Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 2040. Looking further ahead, Lalamove plans to steadily increase the proportion of new energy vehicles on its platform, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Shouldering social responsibility and supporting partner drivers

Lalamove has implemented rigorous safety standards to ensure operational safety, resulting in an impressive 99.9% injury-free operation rate across all markets in 2023. Moreover, partner drivers receive complimentary personal accident insurance coverage and receive support from Lalamove in navigating compensation claims in the unfortunate event of an accident.
Furthermore, Lalamove is deeply committed to supporting the families of its drivers. In the Philippines, the company launched BiyahEdukasyon, an educational financial assistance program benefiting the children of 100 platform drivers. This program provided PHP 20,000 in financial aid, easing the burden of educational expenses such as tuition fees, stationery, miscellaneous fees, and daily expenditures throughout their high school and college years.
