One of my favorite healthy food when I in “healthy eating” mood, is lumpiang sariwa (fresh vegetable spring roll). As you have seen in my previous review of Globe Lumpia House, it is one of my favorite Filipino veggie food!
Kuya’s Special Lumpiang Sariwa is not your typical Filipino lumpiang sariwa. It’s a variant of the original lumpiang sariwa. Aside from the standard recipe ingredients of “Ubod” (Coconut pith), carrots, lettuce and garlic, it differentiates its taste from the norm with two special ingredients: Thailand grass and Moroccan Nuts! These two ingredients give the dish a different but “desirable” flavor. The two additional ingredients have anti-oxidants, fiber, detoxifier, Vitamin E, protein and Selenium make it a delight not only for the tummy but also for the body.
The lumpia costs Php. 50 pesos and is available in most of the food courts in major malls mostly as kiosk.

I rate Kuya’s version 3.75 out 5. Its different taste is something that you will like or hate. I like it but not as I love Globe Lumpia House’s version because its a bit more sweet. I still recommend Kuya’s version especially for the health conscious. It’s still one of the best version of fresh spring roll around. It prefer it than the Bodhi’s version.
So if you are in the food courts and looking for something healthy and enjoyable to eat as a side dish or even the main dish, try Kuya’s Special Lumpiang Sariwa and enjoy a veggie delight!
