Knowledge Channel Honored by DepEd and NTMCC for Educational Support

The Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) was honored by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council (NTMCC) for its impactful contributions to the 2024 National Teachers’ Month (NTM) celebration during the 44th NTMCC event held this March.

KCFI was commended for its unwavering support for teachers, showcasing initiatives that focused on professional development, recognition, and accessible educational tools through its Knowledge Channel Learning Resources.

Among the key highlights was the launch of new educational programs aligned with DepEd’s curriculum, reinforcing KCFI’s strong advocacy for basic education and Early Childhood Development (ECD)—spearheaded by KCFI President and Executive Director Rina Lopez.

To further strengthen teacher development, KCFI rolled out comprehensive training programs, including hands-on technical training for teachers on the Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KCPML) across provinces such as Leyte, Bukidnon, Ifugao, and Bataan, as well as Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) training sessions held at the Philippine School for the Deaf.

KCFI also reached a broader audience through its online conferences in 2024, engaging nearly 16,000 educators, child development workers, and parents. These virtual sessions focused on improving teaching strategies in reading and mathematics and sharing best practices in nurturing children from birth to age 8.

Expressing his appreciation, KCFI Vice President Edric Calma emphasized the foundation’s commitment to educational progress:

“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts during National Teachers’ Month and remain committed to supporting the professional growth and development of teachers across the Philippines.”
