“Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate,” one of the first shows that teach kids about social distancing, makes its way to YeY Channel this June, along with special Public Service announcements where kids can learn how to protect themselves from the current pandemic.
The 2020 American television special is a spin-off of Sesame Workshop’s “Caring for Each Other” project in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. It features Elmo and the Sesame Street gang having a virtual playdate, along with celebrity guests Anne Hathaway, Lin Manuel Miranda, and Tracee Ellis Ross. The special airing is on June 7 (Sunday) at 8:30am. Airing along with this are public service announcements by Elmo and his friends which will air on YeY Channel the whole month of June.
YeY viewers should also watch out for YeY’s new offering, “Masha and the Bear.” Catch Masha, a little girl whose boundless energy and extra friendliness bring her crazy little adventures. As she meets a retired circus bear looking to settle down in the forest, Masha finds an adult companion who will help her interact with the big world. It’s a story of real friendship and caring, with some little lessons of creativity thrown in. See how she makes Bear’s life crazier in their adventures every Saturday & Sunday at 7:30 AM.
Also airing for the first time on YeY is “Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.” In the series, ten-year-old girl Sakura accidentally releases the magical Clow Cards and unleashes creatures with it. Suddenly bestowed with magical powers, she must get back all the cards and seal them in together with the dangerous creatures. As she tries to collect all the cards, Sakura finds help from the beast and protector of the cards, Cerberus. Witness their battles Monday-Friday at 6 PM.
One of the famous 90s animes, “Samurai X” is back. Follow the story of the former assassin Kenshin, who vows to repent for his sins. One day, he chances upon a struggling martial arts school and meets new friends who will him defend the innocent. Catch it Monday-Friday at 8 PM.
Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card and Samurai X would make its way on YeY’s All YeY Anime block.
Meanwhile, returning to YeY this June is the story of “Judie Abbot.” Orphan Judie gets sent to a prestigious school by a mysterious person whom she only knows as John Smith. She has only seen him once and calls him Daddy Long Legs because of this striking physical trait. The only thing he wants in return is for her to write him letters every month without expecting any reply. Join Judie as she navigates high school years while trying to find out the true identity of Daddy Long Legs, weekdays at 4 PM.
Aside from the said shows, making their returns are “Power Rangers” and “Hero Academia.”
