Kathryn Bernardo, Asia’s Box Office Superstar, achieved a prestigious accolade at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) as she received the Outstanding Asian Star award.
During her acceptance speech, she took a moment to pay tribute to healthcare workers and express her gratitude for ABS-CBN’s highly acclaimed series “2 Good 2 Be True.”
“I was drawn to this project because of its unique storyline. It has always been more than just sharing a love story with our audience; it’s about raising awareness regarding Alzheimer’s disease and educating people about those who grapple with it, as well as how we can provide them with the best support. This project made me deeply appreciate our nurses and healthcare workers, so it was much more than just another TV show for me,” stated the Kapamilya star.
In the series, Kathryn portrayed the character of Ali, a nurse entrusted with the care of an elderly billionaire, Lolo Sir/Hugo Agcaoili, portrayed by Ronaldo Valdez, who was battling Alzheimer’s disease. Throughout its successful run, the show received praise for its educational content, teaching viewers vital health procedures like CPR and the FAST method, which can save lives.
The star of “A Very Good Girl” also dedicated her award to the entire “2 Good 2 Be True” team and expressed her gratitude to her devoted fans in the Philippines.
Kathryn also shared her hope for the creation of “more world-class content produced not just for Filipinos, but for the whole world to see.”
“I am immensely proud and humbled to stand on this stage, representing Filipino talent and being a Filipino. This means so much to me. Thank you so much, and from the bottom of my heart, maraming-maraming salamat po,” she concluded.
In other exciting news, fans can look forward to seeing Kathryn back on the big screen in ABS-CBN Film Productions’ “A Very Good Girl,” which is set to premiere in cinemas nationwide beginning September 27.
