Karayama Expands in the Philippines with One Ayala Grand Opening

The journey of Karayama’s iconic Japanese-style fried chicken, or karaage, traces back to a small storefront in Tokyo. Committed to preserving the authentic taste of Japan’s beloved fried chicken, Karayama carefully marinates each boneless piece in a secret recipe, designed to enhance the chicken’s natural flavors rather than overpower them. Each piece is then expertly breaded and fried to achieve the perfect crispness—a dedication that has made Karayama the No. 1 best-selling and most popular karaage restaurant in Japan.

Bringing Japan’s #CrunchiestFriedChicken to the Philippines

In the Philippines, Karayama aims to be known as the go-to brand for Japan’s #CrunchiestFriedChicken. Using ingredients sourced directly from Japan, the restaurant serves up a variety of authentic Japanese-style fried chicken dishes, from rice sets to the famous 15-piece Chicken Mountain—a name inspired by “Kara” (from “karaage”) and “Yama” (meaning mountain).

Beyond its signature karaage, Karayama offers an extensive menu, including:
🍛 Japanese Rice Bowls – Best-seller: Cheesy Karatama Don
🍜 Chicken Paitan Ramen & Curry Rice Sets
🍡 Japanese Desserts – Mochi and Ice Cream
🥤 Refreshing Drinks – Cherry Blossom Fresh Fizz

Karayama offers a diverse karaage menu, including rice sets, curry rice sets, and chicken ramen.

Grand Opening at One Ayala

On February 15, Karayama celebrated the grand opening of its One Ayala branch, marking another milestone for the brand. The event gathered media personalities and influencers, with the program kicking off with opening remarks from Karayama Philippines President, Ms. Kimberly Cruz, followed by a warm welcome from Karayama Japan representative, Mr. Ken Korosu.

Instead of a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, the event featured a Sake Opening Ceremony, led by Fullfeeling Inc. CEO Dr. Jaime, Ms. Ricci Cruz, Karayama Japan representatives, and One Ayala mall partners. The highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of a towering 100-piece Chicken Mountain, symbolizing the brand’s continuous growth in the Philippines.

A Milestone 5th Anniversary

As Karayama Philippines marks its 5th year anniversary since opening its first branch at SM North EDSA, the brand continues to expand, now bringing its “Legendary Karaage” to Makati’s southern metro. The newest branch at One Ayala, conveniently located near the EDSA-Ayala footbridge, is ready to serve more Filipinos the crispiest, most flavorful karaage straight from Japan.
