Jhasmine “Jhas” Villanueva, a 20 year-old singer songwriter from Bicol dared to answer the questions and shares her experiences and thoughts as an artist on a live interview on Monday Jukebox hosted by Anae Andolan and Angel Malicdan.
Jhasmine, a folk singer songwriter, who has a thousand subscribers have already released five songs that is available on her Youtube channel and not just that, she also creates music covers as well!

FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE ABOUT BEING AN ARTIST
For all the artists out there, we surely do have our favorites and least favorites about being an artist. Of course, Jhas has too!
“Well, yung pinaka favorite ko bilang artist is yung makapag perform lalo na kapag kasama mo yung mga favorite mo rin na mga artists. Katulad nung kunwari like favorite ko na nakasama ko na sa isang concert or gig is yung Ben&Ben, yung, hindi ko sila nakasama pero napanood ko sila yung MuniMuni at iba pang mga artists. Kaya ang saya- yun yung pinaka favorite ko na part”
“At yung isa ko pang favorite part talaga is yung TF (Talent Fee)” she added jokingly but who doesn’t want not to get paid for working hard right?
“And yung pinaka least favorite ko, parang wala naman ata. Wala akong maisip sa ngayon, ay siguro yung ano pagkatapos na ng mga gigs. Kasi uwian na so parang aww mami-miss ko yung ganitong pangyayari parang part nalang sya ng memories ganun. Yun yung least favorite ko dun pagpapaalam ganun.” other than that, she also misses the face-to-face gigs during pre- pandemic.
WHO INSPIRED YOU TO PUSH YOUR TALENT AND PASSION FOR MUSIC
For sure this is the most frequently asked question for all the musicians out there! Because people are curious on what kept them going despite the circumstances that they encounter. And with that, Ms. Jhas shares her answer on this question.
“Yung una, yung family ko kasi nagsimula ako sa music- yung mama ko talaga yung nag push sakin na matuto ako ng instruments. And yung papa ko rin kasi, is palaging nakikinig ng music kaya ayun siguro na impluwensyahan din ako at ano rin- at dahil dun ngayon nandito ako sa music industry dahil sa pag push nila sa akin.”
Musicians can surely relate to this answer of her! Indeed, family are our first fans or supporters.
Jhasmine also revealed to whom she dedicated her original song Kalangitan that pushes her to write more songs.
