JC Regino Collaborates with Uncle Vingo and Tito Jimmy in Releasing Original Song ‘Idolo’ Dedicated to April Boy Regino’s Fans
JC Regino, the son of the late “Idol” April Boy Regino, recently released a single entitled “Idolo” under GMA Music, which he wrote to give thanks to his dad’s supporters. He collaborated with his uncles, Vingo and Jimmy, who were also members of the April Boys, to produce the song. JC completed the composition in September 2022, six months after his father’s passing, but it took him some time to finalize it. He stated that the song’s title, “Idolo,” was a tribute to the fans who idolized his father and the April Boys.
JC expressed his gratitude to GMA for accepting the song and making it available to a larger audience. He mentioned that he only intended to upload the song on YouTube for people to hear, but with GMA’s involvement, more individuals would be able to listen to it and connect with the message.
He shared that the process of creating the song was challenging, as his uncles were in the United States and no longer active in singing. They recorded their parts in America, and JC pieced everything together in the Philippines. Before his father’s death, he had reconciled with the April Boys, and JC believed that his dad should have been part of the song’s recording. He was grateful that his uncles agreed to participate, and he felt that their involvement made the song more meaningful.
JC expressed his desire to continue writing songs and contributing to Original Pilipino Music (OPM). He hoped that he could follow in his father’s footsteps and return to the music industry. He concluded by inviting everyone to listen to “Idolo,” which is available on all digital streaming platforms worldwide on February 24.
