Japanese Buffet at Kitsho

Sashimi Galore!

My wife and I went to Kitsho Japanese Restaurant located at the Traders Hotel in Pasay City last Sunday, October 7, for a lunch buffet.  She bought this lunch voucher from Metro Deal that cost around Php 600 pesos for a lunch buffet that includes free unlimited ice tea/juice drinks.

We arrived at around 11:40 am with the restaurant already packed with customers. We have reserved a table as part of the promo mechanics that guaranteed us a seat if we arrive by 11:45 so we were seated immediately.

Already hungry (and excited), I first visited the sushi bar area.

The sushi bar area

The first one that caught my eye was my favorite, SASHIMI!  The assorted sashimi of Salmon, Tuna and Crabsticks arranged so nicely and appetizing that I wanted to lift the big bowl and put it in my table!  Of course, I won’t be able to finish it.

Sashimi Galore!

I usually start with sashimis (salmon, tuna, in that order) to jumpstart my Japanese meals.  I just love sashimis especially salmon!

The quality of the fish used in the sashimis were very good!  You can taste the yumminess brought by the freshness of the fish. Really enjoyed both the salmon and the tuna sashimis.

Returned to the sushi bar and looked at what were there again together with the salads.

Yaki Nasu (Grilled Eggplant)

Macaroni Salad

Greens Salads you can dress with Miso or Shoyu dressings

Tamago Yaki (Sweet Egg Roll)

Oshinko (pickled vegetable) Maki

The sinfully (high in cholesterol) delicious Uni (Sea Urchins)

Another plate of sashimis, maki and sushi

I enjoyed another round of sashimis but this time include a California Roll and a Tuna sushi.  I had 2 servings of the heavenly Uni but limited myself to the pleasure to control my cholesterol intake.

Ordered from the waiter two bowls of Miso soup to complement the sushis for me and my wife.  The soup was good for me. My wife actually liked it better than I did.

Miso soup

Having the Miso soup reminded me of having Sukiyaki, which was next to the sushi bar area.

The veggies, beef and the noodles that goes into the broth to complete the Sukiyaki

When I went to that Sukiyaki station, the chef was mixing another batch.

My Sukiyaki being prepared by the chef:

The Sukiyaki was really fantastic.  With its sweet salty broth, the nicely blanch veggies and the highlight, the delicios US Beef thinly sliced cooked in the broth, was a soup/stew made in heaven. It was so good that I went for a second helping.  I requested the chef to put more beef.

Sukiyaki, a soup / stew made in Heaven!

Tempura time!

Shrimp Tempura
Ebi Tempura with Tempura Sauce

I tried the shrimp tempura and found it quite just ordinary to my taste. I find the batter a bit bland to my taste.

I then move to the next phase of the meal! Rice + Viands.

The rice and viands buffet area

Fried Rice

I really loved the fried rice matching with the Japanese Beef Curry.  I remembered the Japanese sushi train resto in Dubai where they prepare the Japanese curry fried rice that I loved.

The sauted vegetable was nicely flavored as well. Chicken was ok.  Initially they had the grilled yellow fin tuna but by the second helpings it was replaced by the salmon!

Grilled Salmon

The grilled salmon with the fried rice

I really enjoyed the grilled salmon! It’s definitely preferred than the tuna.  So yummy!  Salmon grilled is really a treat for me.

Me enjoying the meal with the also tasty pineapple juice (canned not powdered drink)

Me and my wife enjoyed the Japanese buffet meal

Time for desserts!  A healthy way to end the meal with fresh fruits.

Selection of fresh fruits: Pineapple, melon, watermelon

The fresh fruits were sweet and enjoyable to it. I loved the sweet and sourly taste of the pineapple.

The Metro Deal of the Japanese buffet with unlimited juice was really a fantastic offer for a classy Japanese Restaurant.  Without the offer, Kitsho offers the buffet every Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays for Php 748++ which comes around Php 915 but without the unlimited juice drink.  The juice drinks ranges around Php 120.

I would recommend Kitsho for the good quality and tasty authentic Japanese dishes.  The ambiance was nice and they have partitioned areas as well.  Service was very good.  Since we were seated and by the time we left, there was a good turnaround of customers between people leaving and people waiting to be seated, therefore I recommend you make reservations.  The place seems to be very popular during the weekends especially Sundays for families and groups.

So if you love to eat Japanese Food and looking for a place to eat lunch during the weekends and holidays, I highly recommend Kitsho Restaurant and Sake Bar located at the Traders Hotel in Pasay City.
