If you noticed how different (and commendable) acting Jake Cuenca exhibited in his role in “Ikaw Lamang” as Franco, Jake attributes it to his acting workshop with Ivanna Chubbuck which he undergo-ed recently. His portrayal in the teleserye gained him the Male Kontrabida of the Year at this year’s Yahoo Celebrity Awards.

Attributing his success to training, the Kapamilya star got motivated and encouraged to take up more classes in the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, a highly reputed acting school in New York City, USA. The acting institute is know for having trained the likes of Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson, Clair Danes and other Hollywood greats like James Dean, Marlon Brando, Robert de Niro, and Sean Penn.

He leaves for New York on 29 September for a month long of intensive acting training.

It’s not only his career that is in full bloom. Jake’s love life is also in full bloom and was spotted with his girlfriend Channel Thomas at the 8th Star Magic Ball.
