JAECOO Philippines’ first hybrid model, the J7 SHS (Super Hybrid System), has been officially range-verified by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) after covering 1,488.8 kilometers on a full tank and a single full charge. This milestone reinforces JAECOO’s commitment to innovative engineering and sustainable mobility for Filipino urban elites.

Exceptional Performance and Efficiency

The JAECOO J7 SHS delivers an impressive 340 horsepower and 525 Newton-meters of torque, with a globally claimed range of up to 1,200 kilometers. Designed for both city and long-distance travel, its 2,672mm wheelbase ensures a smooth ride. The Super Hybrid System optimizes efficiency by enabling electric-only driving while incorporating a gasoline engine for extended range. Equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), the J7 SHS caters to Filipino professionals seeking a balance of performance, sustainability, and individuality.

The AAP Verification Test

The Efficiency Run was conducted under the supervision of AAP, the country’s leading auto club, which evaluates fuel and energy efficiency in hybrid and electric vehicles. Unlike manufacturers that often select fuel-efficient test routes, JAECOO Philippines opted for a realistic and challenging course to showcase the vehicle’s true capabilities.

Two J7 SHS units underwent the four-day verification test, starting with full fuel tanks and fully charged batteries. The test covered diverse terrains, including urban roads, highways, steep inclines, and descents—reflecting real-world driving conditions.

The vehicles followed the Northern Loop Route, beginning in Biñan, Laguna, running in full EV mode before transitioning to hybrid mode through Ilocos Region, Cagayan, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija. They reached a gasoline station along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).

Proven Fuel Efficiency and Endurance

The J7 SHS faced 200 kilometers of steep inclines and descents, conditions typically avoided in eco-runs due to increased fuel consumption. Despite this, the verified efficiency remained outstanding, proving the model’s ability to handle demanding terrains with ease.

Throughout the test, the J7 SHS recorded an average fuel consumption of 24.4 km/L. One unit achieved 1,488.8 km, while the other reached 1,480.1 km, both maintaining remarkable consistency. With remaining ranges of 44 km and 24 km, these results underscore the J7 SHS’ superior fuel efficiency, off-road capabilities, and reliability.
