Packetworx Pioneers IoT Innovation at IoT Conference 2024, Propelling the Philippines’ Digital Transformation
Packetworx is spearheading the advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the Philippines through the IoT Conference 2024 (IoTCon 2024), which kicks off today at the SMX Convention Center. Under the theme “Connected Ecosystem in Building the IoT-Ready Philippines,” this two-day event serves as a pivotal platform for industry leaders, government officials, and global IoT advocates to collaborate and explore connected technology’s transformative potential.
IoTCon 2024 goes beyond being just an event; it represents a significant movement toward establishing a cohesive IoT ecosystem in the country. “Our primary goal is to accelerate IoT adoption in the Philippines by fostering an environment where stakeholders can share knowledge, connect, and explore cutting-edge technologies,” said Raisa Orbon, Chief Marketing Officer of Packetworx.
Running until October 30, the conference is organized in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Browan Communications. This year’s event underscores a significant milestone in the nation’s digital evolution, with an emphasis on public utilities, smart city initiatives, and disaster response systems.
Building on its previous successes, IoTCon 2024 delves deeper into strategic IoT applications and new technological developments. “This year, we’ve expanded the content and scope of the conference,” Orbon highlighted. “Roundtable discussions will offer attendees the opportunity to engage directly with LoRa Alliance members, government representatives, and industry leaders.”
Opening speeches from DICT representatives outline the strategic roadmap for fostering an IoT-ready Philippines. Packetworx CEO Arnold Bagabaldo will address the collaborative efforts needed between the government, private sector, and international partners to accelerate digital transformation and improve quality of life.
LoRa Alliance Interim CEO Alper Yegin will discuss how the alliance drives global and ASEAN IoT innovation, emphasizing the importance of the LoRaWAN standard in adapting to emerging market needs. Browan Communications CEO Henry Huang will present advancements in system integration and platform development, as well as support for sustainable IoT networks.
A major focus of IoTCon 2024 is LoRa (Long Range) technology, a vital component for scaling IoT solutions due to its low power consumption and extensive range. This technology plays a significant role in smart city infrastructure, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.
Highlighting the importance of their partnership, Orbon noted, “The LoRa Alliance’s involvement enhances the event’s credibility and international reach, showcasing LoRaWAN® use cases from smart energy management to disaster response systems.”
With over 3,000 attendees and 50 exhibitors, IoTCon 2024 offers exceptional networking opportunities. Attendees can connect with local and global experts and witness live demonstrations of innovative IoT applications. “We’ve created a connected series of activities, encouraging participants to engage in discussions, watch live showcases, and network in an organized manner,” Orbon added.
