Op. 2 Php 1 million up for grabs as esports teams battle it out in the Predator League 2024 Philippine Qualifiers
Get ready, esports enthusiasts! The highly anticipated Predator League, the Philippines’ most prestigious tournament circuit, is making its grand return, with an expanded battleground reaching even further lands. This year, teams will have the chance to compete for a combined prize pool of Php 1 million and the coveted Predator Shield in either of two disciplines: Dota 2 or Valorant.
The Predator League serves as a vital platform for young esports talents to nurture their potential and make their mark in the gaming industry. Since its inception in 2018, over 15,000 teams from the Asia Pacific region have participated in the Asia Pacific Predator League, showcasing the tournament’s significant impact on the esports community.
The trials for this year’s edition will be conducted in three stages: the Qualifiers, the Group Stage, and the Grand Finals.
To give aspiring esports players the opportunity to jumpstart their professional careers, the Qualifiers will be held both online and onsite. Four offline qualifiers will take place across the Philippines – in Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and NCR. Additionally, four online qualifiers will be accessible to participants from anywhere in the country. Each victorious team will not only secure a spot in the Group Stage but also walk away with Php 5,000. These exciting pocket tournaments will be held from July to September for Dota 2 and September to October for Valorant.
Once the challenging teams have been selected, they will be split into two groups for the Group Stage. In this phase, teams will compete against each other in a best-of-one round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Grand Finals. Fans can cheer on their favorite teams as the matches in the Group Stages will be livestreamed for everyone to enjoy.
The climax of the event will take place in November, where the top four teams will battle it out in a LAN final, showcasing their grit and skill in front of an enthusiastic live audience. The victors in Dota 2 and Valorant will claim the title of champions and not only lift the prestigious Predator Shield but also bag Php 250,000 in prize money. The runners-up will receive Php 100,000, and the 3rd and 4th placers will earn Php 55,000.
In addition to these rewards, the Champions for Dota 2 and Valorant will have the honor of representing the Philippines in the Grand Final event scheduled for early 2024. More details about the Grand Finals will be announced soon.
