Home Credit Philippines (HCPH) has achieved a significant milestone, reaching 10 million customers as it celebrates a decade of steadfast service. Since its establishment in 2013, the leading consumer finance company has extended a total of P295.7 billion (as of December 2023) in credit across the country through its installment, cash loan, and revolving credit products.
The entry of Home Credit into the Philippine market a decade ago filled a crucial gap, providing essential financial services to Filipinos who were underserved by traditional financing options and often resorted to informal and unregulated lenders. Initially focusing on mobile phones, the company gradually expanded its offerings to include laptops, computers, furniture, home appliances, bicycles, sporting goods, home improvement items, and department store purchases. In recent years, Home Credit has further diversified its portfolio by introducing a credit card and the virtual limit Qwarta. With its ongoing innovations in products and services, the company has earned a reputation as a reliable partner in meeting the diverse needs of Filipinos across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sheila Paul, Chief Marketing Officer of HCPH, remarked, “Thanks to our easy and accessible consumer finance products, we have assisted countless Filipinos in acquiring gadgets, furniture, appliances, and more, to fulfill their goals for themselves and their families. From processing just seven loans in 2013, we have now officially served over 10 million customers.”
Home Credit has entered into more than 22 million contracts to date, including over 17 million point-of-sale (POS) loans, more than two million cash loans, and over two million revolving loans. POS loans, particularly for mobile phones, have been a significant contributor, with nearly 12 million units financed. Last year alone, Home Credit financed 1.7 million mobile phone units, supported by various promotions, including recent 0% interest installment financing.
Filipino consumers have demonstrated a strong interest in upgrading their living spaces and technology gadgets, evident in the financing of over one million TV units and 867,000 computer units over the past decade.
Paul expressed gratitude to valued customers, stating, “As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we remain committed to our mission of being the country’s financial partner. We continue to innovate, ensuring our services meet the diverse needs and lifestyles of Filipinos.”
