DENR, SM Group unite to protect Philippine biodiversity. A deeper appreciation of our Philippine biodiversity and the challenge we face to protect it, was at the heart of a media event hosted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the SM Group at the Lanson Place Mall of Asia. Several frontline conservation groups were represented as they spoke about the ongoing efforts to save from extinction six umbrella species – the Tamaraw, Cockatoo, Philippine Pangolin, Marine Turtle, Philippine Eagle, and Dugong.
