Grace VanderWaal Drops Playful New Single “Babydoll” ft. Aliyah’s Interlude

Grace VanderWaal makes a bold return with her playful new single “Babydoll” featuring rapper Aliyah’s Interlude. A lively follow-up to her introspective track “What’s Left of Me,” this high-energy anthem introduces listeners to Grace’s diva-like alter ego, Baby Doll—who always gets what she wants.

“In the studio, we talked about acting bratty, going out, wanting everything, and being a diva,” VanderWaal shares. “Tiffany Stringer and I decided to write from our alter egos’ perspective. Mine is Baby Doll—she doesn’t like to be told no.”

Accompanied by a vibrant music video directed by Sophie Hur, “Babydoll” marks an exciting new era for the 21-year-old singer-songwriter and actress.

This release follows VanderWaal’s major 2024 highlights, including a captivating performance at the Kennedy Center Honors and her role in Francis Ford Coppola’s epic film Megalopolis, where she stars alongside Adam Driver and Laurence Fishburne. The film’s Cannes premiere earned a seven-minute standing ovation for the legendary director.

Since her breakthrough as the biggest-selling EP artist of 2016 with Imperfectly Perfect, VanderWaal has toured with Florence + the Machine and Imagine Dragons, won a Teen Choice Award, and received the Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award. She also made history as the youngest artist on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 music list.
