Concluding their year of concert productions and special shows showcasing renowned bands from the Philippines and beyond, GNN culminates with their annual year-end event at 123 Block in Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City, on December 15, 2023 (Saturday), starting at 7 p.m.
This time, the Manila-based production outfit opts for a more intimate affair, featuring cherished collaborators on the lineup. Among them are The Ransom Collective and Oh, Flamingo!, both of whom GNN partnered with for their highly successful tenth-anniversary concert earlier in the year. Additionally, SOS, Ang Bandang Shirley, and Ciudad—bands integral to GNN’s initial journey as an indie production, hosting bi-monthly shows in Route and Saguijo back in 2015—will also be part of the event.
Grounded in a culture of nurturing community and inclusivity through live music, the GNN Year-End 2023 aims to carry forward its tradition of curating shows that celebrate the independent music scene. It remains committed to its core principles and ethos, evolving as a passion project that adapts to the evolving demands of the times.
Throughout this year, GNN has curated an array of unforgettable shows, including the much-anticipated reunion concert of Philippine R&B icons Kyla and Jay-R, the commemoration of Sugarfree’s Sa Wakas album’s 20th anniversary featuring Ebe Dancel, and the celebration of Barbie Almalbis’ 25th anniversary, which brought together Barbie’s Cradle and Hungry Young Poets. Other standout events included Zark’s Fest 2023, Linya-Linya Land, and a mesmerizing intimate concert by Clara Benin.
Adding to their roster of phenomenal productions, the Filipino production group is gearing up to welcome Taiwanese math-rock ensemble Elephant Gym (co-produced with The Rest Is Noise PH) and Indonesian pop-rock band Reality Club to the Philippine stage next month. These bands will headline two separate shows at 123 Block and Balcony Music House.
