Globe installs 99 new cell towers upgrades 917 sites

More and more Globe customers are now experiencing the benefits of its aggressive network builds and expansion in the past few weeks.

Quezon City is one of the major cities which has seen a major boost with the company’s efforts as it has installed at least 99 new cell towers and has completed 917 site upgrades from January to November this year. These efforts have made connectivity with bigger capacity and wider coverage possible all over the city.

Several customers have expressed their appreciation of Globe’s recent network rollouts and modernization which are very crucial in giving them a fast, reliable, and dependable internet connection.

These improvements in call, text, and data services have been confirmed by international third party analytical firms Ookla® and Opensignal.

Ookla®, the global leader in internet testing and analysis, has reported that Globe has the most consistent 4G network in 13 out of 17 regions based on its Q3 2020 data. In terms of scores, Ookla’s quarterly data showed that in terms of mobile Consistency Score™, Globe is now enjoying up to 64% consistency in these high population density areas, nearing the global benchmark of 70% consistency score.

Also, comparing download speeds between Q3 2019 and Q3 2020, Ookla data showed that Globe has a 12% higher mean download speed for all technologies and a 5% higher mean download speed for 4G/ LTE.

“At the end of the day, these installations will be for naught if our customers will not experience an improvement in their mobile and data services. Happy customers mean what we are doing now is right,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.

Globe has laid out a 3-pronged strategy to improve data experience including aggressive cell site builds, and fast-tracking the fiberization of Filipino homes nationwide.
