As a testament to its unwavering commitment to sustainability and clean energy, Globe Telecom introduces an exciting “G Chance the Raffle,” providing customers with the opportunity to embrace eco-friendliness by offering zero-emission electric vehicles as top prizes in this year’s competition.
In this year’s edition of “G Chance the Raffle,” Globe is proud to present one BYD Dolphin Pure Electric Vehicle with a 400-km range and three Gogoro Smartscooters as the sustainable transportation options up for grabs. This initiative aligns with Globe’s steadfast support for cutting-edge climate technology and its advocacy for cleaner solutions.
This year’s “G Chance the Raffle” marks a significant milestone as it introduces electric vehicles as top prizes for the first time, reinforcing Globe’s dedication to helping customers make purposeful choices by making cleaner transportation options accessible. It also serves as the prelude to the launch of Gogoro Smartscooters in the Philippines, expected by year-end.
Including electric vehicles as top prizes in this year’s “G Chance the Raffle” exemplifies Globe’s overarching and longstanding commitment to sustainability across all its endeavors and initiatives.
Notably, the Globe Group’s sustainability efforts have earned accolades from major award-giving bodies, such as the company’s impressive victories in four categories at the Sustainable Company Awards 2023. These awards encompass distinctions such as the Energy Efficiency Initiative of the Year in APAC, Net Zero Progression of the Year in APAC, Sustainability Reporting of the Year in APAC, and Large Enterprise of the Year in APAC. These recognitions underscore Globe’s unwavering dedication to sustainable business practices.
Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe, emphasized, “We want our advocacy for sustainable solutions to transcend not only within the company but also to our customers. This opportunity allows them to experience clean energy through sustainable transportation options, potentially leading them to make more eco-conscious lifestyle choices.”
The BYD Dolphin Pure EV, distributed by AC Motors under Globe’s principal Ayala Corporation, and with Solar Transport as its Key Dealer network, is a five-seater electric vehicle powered by a 70-kW (95 horsepower) electric motor with 180 Nm torque, driven by a 44.9-kWh lithium-ion iron phosphate battery. With a 400-km range, this stylish compact hatchback is ideal for out-of-town trips, offering a quiet and vibration-free experience while emitting zero emissions and ensuring world-class safety.
Meanwhile, the Gogoro Smartscooters operate using GoStations, allowing users to conveniently swap depleted batteries for fully-charged ones in as little as six seconds. The commercial launch of Gogoro Smartscooters is anticipated in Q4 2023, with Globe’s 917Ventures, the Ayala Corporation, and Gogoro Taiwan joining forces to introduce a cleaner transport system to the Philippines.
As the “G Chance the Raffle” nears its conclusion, the enthusiastic response to the Electric Vehicle prize category not only underscores Globe Telecom’s commitment to sustainability but also reflects its customers’ collective eagerness to embrace eco-friendly transportation solutions.
