Timed to TWICE’s highly anticipated comeback, the girls are treating fans with a curated song list as they take over Spotify’s Idol Lounge until 19 March!
It appears that Filipino fans of TWICE are among the most enthusiastic supporters of the iconic K-pop group’s 12th mini-album, “READY TO BE.” According to the latest data from Spotify, the Philippines ranks third in terms of the number of monthly listeners streaming TWICE. This puts the Philippines just behind the United States and Japan, which occupy the first and second spots, respectively.
In anticipation of TWICE’s highly-awaited comeback, Spotify has a special surprise for the ONCE fandom. The renowned K-Pop girl group will be taking over Spotify’s Idol Lounge, which is one of the many initiatives by Spotify to connect fans with the artists they love by enabling the discovery of their idols’ musical tastes.
The featured artist has free reign to curate a selection of their favorite music and include special messages about their song choices, all presented to fans in the form of a playlist. Apart from tracks from their discography, fans can also enjoy a selection of their preferred songs by other artists.
Exclusively available now until March 19, make sure to tune in to Idol Lounge: TWICE on Spotify and enjoy the 30-track playlist curated by the nine-member girl group. Fans will get to discover:
- The songs on the girls’ own playlists, including tracks by fellow female artists Sabrina Carpenter, Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, and electronic music duo HONNE.
- The girls’ favourite songs from their discography, such as LOVE FOOLISH from the 2019 Feel Special Album, and POP! by the group’s NAYEON
- Their personal recommendations from the latest READY TO BE mini album, including CRAZY STUPID LOVE, which was co-written and selected by DAHYUN, and the title song SET ME FREE.
- Why they love the music. In an audio clip by NAYEON, who recommended the song SET ME FREE, she shared that the song is about “realizing the love and showing (an) enterprising self, to risk everything to protect the love.”
Previously, Spotify’s Idol Lounge has showcased the musical tastes of boy groups NCT127 and Stray Kids, giving fans a glimpse into their personal song choices.
