Ginny Guanco Delves into Enigma of Women Third Exhibition, “Her World”

In her latest solo exhibition titled “Her World,” artist Ginny Guanco unveils the essence of feminine power, mystery, and the intricate nuances of womanhood through a captivating blend of vibrant hues, bold strokes, and an intuitive painting technique.

Guanco’s artistic journey began at the age of 8, fueled by a fascination with the female form. Her early sketches of women in fashionable attire laid the foundation for her formal training in Fine Arts at the University of Sto. Tomas and further studies in painting and watercolor in the United States. Under the mentorship of the late Salvacion Lim Higgins, Guanco honed her creative eye and refined her skills, paving the way for her unique artistic voice.

After years of exploring art alongside a career in media and PR, Guanco fully embraced her calling as an artist in 2016 with her inaugural solo show, “Boho Chic.” This was followed by the uplifting collection “Festival,” presented virtually during the pandemic.

Now, in 2024, Guanco returns triumphantly with “Her World,” a collection of 26 paintings described as “aggressive and bolder,” reflecting her liberation from creative constraints. Experimenting with oil pastel, watercolor, acrylic, brush pens, and Sharpie pens, Guanco’s signature elements of bright colors, intricate designs, and thoughtful details remain evident, yet her style has evolved with newfound confidence, freedom, and power.

Guanco’s inspiration stems from the multifaceted nature of women, who juggle various roles but are not defined by them. “Women have greater depth and mystery, which I find truly fascinating,” she shares.

“Her World” will debut at Gateway Gallery Studio in Araneta City on March 16, 2024, coinciding with Women’s Month. Guanco emphasizes women empowerment as a recurring theme in her exhibits, highlighting the balance between power, femininity, and inner strength.
