Get ready for world-class dancing and high-energy performances every Saturday as “Time To Dance”, ABS-CBN and Nathan Studios’ exciting new dance survival reality show, premieres on January 18. Hosted by dance enthusiast Gela Atayde and multi-talented Robi Domingo, the show will air on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
During the show’s media conference on January 16, Gela Atayde, New Gen Dance Champion and passionate member of the dance community, shared the inspiration behind “Time To Dance.”
“This is an advocacy project for me,” Gela revealed. “Being part of the dance community, I’ve seen the ups and downs. There are gaps, and there are excesses. ‘Time To Dance’ is my way of helping those who want to explore dance further and inspiring others. It was born from the heart and passion people saw in me,” she added.
Gela emphasized the inclusive nature of the show, which welcomes dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and physical abilities. She also shared that renowned celebrity performers AC Bonifacio and Darren Espanto, along with expert dance coaches Chips Beltran, Lema Diaz, and Jobel Dayrit, will join the show as guest judges and coaches.
Meanwhile, Robi Domingo expressed his admiration for Gela’s growth as a host, despite this being her first time on the job.
“You can really see Gela’s determination to improve her craft. There’s been so much progress since day one. As a host, it’s not just about talking—it’s about connection. We all feel that from her,” Robi commented.
Vimi Rivera, Director of World of Dance Philippines and one of the show’s dance council members, highlighted that “Time To Dance” is more than just a competition. “It’s about showcasing the talents within the local dance community,” she said.
The first episode of “Time To Dance” will introduce 17 dance hopefuls who will undergo rigorous training with some of the best coaches in the Philippine dance scene. These contenders will be tested through group dance evaluations and intense one-on-one dance battles, fighting to survive weekly eliminations.
Who will rise to the challenge and be crowned the first grand winner of “Time To Dance”? Tune in every Saturday at 8:30 PM on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, MYX, iWantTFC, and TFC to find out!
