Big Bad Wolf Unite on a Mission to 1 Million New Readers” Kicks Off at Glorietta
Manila, Philippines — Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Returns to Glorietta with Exciting Offers and Partnerships
Put your reading glasses back on, Manila Wolfies! The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is back and ready to make a splash at Ayala Malls, Glorietta Activity Center, from June 19 to 26. The world’s biggest book sale continues its quest to reach more readers with its “Big Bad Wolf Unite on a Mission to 1 Million New Readers” initiative.
This year, the Big Bad Wolf comes back to Manila with new and returning partnerships. Metrobank offers an exclusive deal for its credit cardholders: a 0% 3-month installment promo for a single-receipt purchase of at least P3,000. Early birds at the Metrobank booth with their card or app can also score a P100 voucher for purchases of P2,000 or more at the sale.
IKEA joins the event, offering Zing members a 5% discount on their first purchase with no minimum spend, just by presenting their membership.
The Glorietta book sale will feature over two million books spanning various genres, from contemporary bestsellers and timeless classics to children’s literature, educational titles, and Filipino reads—all at unbeatable prices. Big Bad Wolf is dedicated to reaching new readers across the country and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
In collaboration with Ayala Malls’ “BookLat: Open. Imagine. Discover.” initiative, Big Bad Wolf aims to provide opportunities for learning and recreation.
“BookLat,” derived from the Filipino word “buklat,” emphasizes reading for leisure and entertainment, offering a wide range of affordable books for all ages. Ayala Malls encourages customers to donate a book for every purchase to support Ayala Land’s project promoting early childhood literacy, aiming to collect 20,000 books for public school students from kindergarten to grade 3. To kickstart this effort, Big Bad Wolf and Glorietta each donated 1,000 books.
Big Bad Wolf co-founder Andrew Yap expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Today, we make another significant step towards our goal of inspiring a new generation of readers. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to all kinds of books.”
Carol Chuaying, Big Bad Wolf Philippines Managing Partner, added, “Our goal with every book sale extends beyond selling books; it’s about building a community where people can share their love for reading and discover new passions.”
The event’s opening was led by Yap and Chuaying and attended by notable figures such as the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino; Glorietta General Manager Sherlene Cruz; Ayala Malls Consumer Engagement Head Kharen Pascual; Ayala Malls Operations Head Hamm Katipunan; Metrobank Credit Card General Usage Head Emily Koa; and 2GO Business Unit Head for 2GO Forwarding Francis Anne “Faye” Alonzo Babar. Also present were “Book Bosses” like The Vanguard Academy Head Principal Ericson Perez; The Little Sandbox Preschool Directress Mia Villavicencio; The Hygge Library Cafe Co-owner Kat Clade; and Pinay Girl Boss Founder and CEO, Atty. Tina de Guzman.
Big Bad Wolf promises an even bigger and grander book sale experience for both avid readers and casual shoppers.
With the “Little Wolfies Crew,” young guests can learn how readers today can be leaders tomorrow, participating as welcome howlers, police hunters, sellers, or checkout wolfies.
Moreover, Big Bad Wolf invites organizations to join their cause with “Book Boss,” offering a free table for one day during the book sale. Participating organizations can host events or activities for the community, suggest books based on their brand category, or handpick book bundles onsite.
