Prime Video has unveiled the official key art and character descriptions for the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Gen V, set in the world of The Boys. The show is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. The series will launch with three episodes on Friday, September 29, followed by weekly episodes, culminating in the epic season finale on Friday, November 3. Gen V will be an integral part of the comprehensive savings, convenience, and entertainment package enjoyed by Prime members under a single membership.
Gen V is situated within the sinister universe of The Boys, introducing viewers to Godolkin University, a prestigious institution exclusively for budding superheroes. Here, students are groomed to become the next generation of heroes, ideally with lucrative endorsement deals. While the typical college chaos of self-discovery and revelry is present, these young individuals must also confront explosive predicaments, quite literally. As they vie for popularity and top grades, it becomes evident that the stakes are significantly higher when superpowers are involved. When the group of budding supes uncovers a deeper and more nefarious scheme lurking within the school, they face a defining moment: will they emerge as heroes or villains in their own stories?
The cast of the series includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Gen V also boasts guest appearances by Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, with Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne reprising their roles from The Boys.
Jaz Sinclair portrays Marie Moreau, an 18-year-old superhero with the unique ability to control and weaponize her own blood. As a freshman at Vought-operated Godolkin University, she is eager to prove herself worthy of joining The Seven but is sidetracked by a mystery she begins to uncover at the school.
Chance Perdomo takes on the role of Andre Anderson, a junior at Godolkin University possessing magnetic powers. He is Golden Boy’s best friend and the son of the renowned superhero, Polarity. Andre faces the daunting task of living up to the Polarity legacy as he prepares to inherit the superhero’s name upon his father’s retirement. Upon realizing that something is amiss at the school, Andre takes it upon himself to solve the mystery.
Lizze Broadway portrays Emma Meyer, also known by her superhero moniker, Little Cricket, due to her ability to shrink in size. Although she grapples with insecurity and naivety, often leading her into compromising situations, she forms a close friendship with her freshman roommate, Marie. Together, they navigate the enigmatic dangers lurking at Godolkin University.
Shelley Conn brings to life Indira Shetty, the dean of Godolkin University. Lacking superpowers herself, Indira possesses an extensive background in superhero psychology and an unparalleled ability to analyze what drives superheroes. She is indispensable to the school’s operations, aiming to transform Godolkin University into the most prestigious college for superheroes. Upon Marie’s arrival on campus, Indira takes a keen interest in her.
Maddie Phillips plays Cate Dunlap, a junior at Godolkin University and good friends with Jordan and Andre. Cate wields the power to command people to do her bidding with just a touch of her hands, which she leverages to her advantage. She is a formidable and self-assured individual, further solidified by her relationship with Luke, making her one of the most popular supes on campus.
London Thor and Derek Luh embody the character of Jordan Li, a competitive student at Godolkin University willing to go to great lengths to reach the pinnacle. Jordan possesses a unique ability that allows them to switch between male and female forms, each manifesting distinct powers. In their male form, they are dense and indestructible, while in their female form, they are agile and capable of launching energy blasts. This exceptional power duality sets them apart as a standout Teaching Assistant at Brink’s School of Crime Fighting.
Asa Germann takes on the role of Sam, a troubled supe desperately seeking an escape from his unfortunate circumstances. He possesses tremendous super strength and invulnerability. Despite having a kind heart, Sam grapples with debilitating hallucinations, making it challenging at times to distinguish between reality and illusion.
Patrick Schwarzenegger portrays Luke Riordan, also known by his superhero alias, Golden Boy, due to his ability to engulf his entire body in flames. As a senior at Godolkin University, he ranks among the elite and holds the brightest prospects for joining The Seven.
Sean Patrick Thomas embodies the character of Polarity, Andre’s father and an esteemed Godolkin University alumnus and trustee. Polarity is a celebrated superhero who expects his son to carry on the Polarity legacy by assuming the superhero’s mantle when he retires. He is unwavering in his belief that Andre is destined to become a member of The Seven and is determined to make this dream a reality.
Clancy Brown takes on the role of Professor Rich “Brink” Brinkerhoff, a renowned professor of crime fighting at Godolkin University. He has trained numerous superheroes, including A-Train, Queen Maeve, and The Deep. Professor Brink is dedicated to identifying the brightest new talent at Godolkin University to join The Seven and believes that Golden Boy possesses the necessary qualities to be the next great superhero.
Marco Pigossi portrays Dr. Edison Cardosa, a gifted physician with close ties to Godolkin University. Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. The series also features a talented ensemble of co-executive producers, including Brant Englestein, Sarah Carbiener, Lisa Kussner, Gabriel Garcia, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, Loreli Alanís, and others. Gen V is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios, in collaboration with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
