Another first from GCash
GCash, the leading mobile wallet in the Philippines, is enhancing its global services with the International Buy Load feature on its app, allowing Filipinos to easily buy load for their relatives abroad from 21 countries. This feature will be under beta mode for a limited time, making GCash the first e-wallet in the country to introduce it. The international load feature enables users to purchase load for an international number, similar to the existing buy load feature on the app. GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon said that with this feature, Filipinos can access 48 international telecommunications providers and buy prepaid load for their family members to help them stay connected wherever they are in the world.
The service will be available in Egypt, Ghana, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zambia. The full launch is expected in the latter part of 2023. Furthermore, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the US can now purchase load for themselves and access other GCash services on the app. GCash is also accessible in other territories, such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy.
GCash aims to improve the lives of Filipinos and their families globally. Martha Sazon recognized the sacrifices OFWs made for their families and said that GCash is doubling up its efforts to improve their connection to their loved ones in the Philippines. GCash is collaborating with DT One, a leading global digital transfer solutions provider, to enable its latest international offering. DT One is also powering other major payments and financial platforms such as Binance Pay, Grab, and PayPal.
The new feature will make mobile prepaid load more accessible for Filipinos and their loved ones abroad so they can make international calls or messages when they need it the most and stay connected wherever they are in the world.
