GCash has recently launched #GCashStories, a series of short films that showcase stories of hope and progress. This series highlights how technology has strengthened relationships between people and goes beyond making daily transactions more accessible.
One of the featured stories is that of Cocoy Rubio, a small business owner who lost his job due to the pandemic. Indeed, GCash’s services helped Cocoy start his own business and carry out necessary transactions, leading to his success.
“We are now 79 million strong,” says Neil Trinidad, GCash’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We are providing 70% of Filipinos with the necessary digital tools, and have distributed over USD 320 million of financial aid.”
Ate Alma and her GCash Story
Another inspiring story featured in #GCashStories is that of Ate Alma, a photocopy operator in a university who lost her home due to typhoon flooding. Thanks to GCash’s Send Money feature, students and graduates of the university were able to donate funds directly to Ate Alma’s GCash wallet in real time.
“Sa totoo lang napakalaking tulong sa akin ng GCash talaga. Hindi ako makapaniwala kasi first time lang nangyari sa akin. Thank you talaga sa GCash,” says Ate Alma. “Sobrang nagulat ako, hindi ko akalain na ganoon karami agad ang dumating. Isipin mo naging 100,000 agad ang dumating sa GCash ko. Talagang patuloy silang naghulog sa GCash hanggang nabuo yung bahay namin.”
GCash’s Send Money feature enables users to transfer funds quickly and safely to any of the other 79 million GCash users. In addition, those who receive the transfer can easily make cashless purchases with GCash payments, Buy Load, Pay Online, and more. Cashing in to transfer is easy, with multiple options available.
“#GCashStories is everyone’s story,” Neil Trinidad says. “And this campaign aims to turn our moments
into movements.”
Furthermore, the #GCashStories campaign aims to turn moments into movements. Also, GCash partners with non-government organizations such as ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation and Caritas Manila to help solve real-world problems.
Lastly, if you have an inspiring story of hope and progress, share it with the world using the hashtags #GCashStories and #MyGCashStory, and tag @gcashofficial on social media.
