Grab users can use GCash to pay for the leading superapp’s services by February
Paying for rides and food orders just got easier and more convenient in the Philippines with the partnership of GCash, the leading mobile wallet, and Grab Philippines, the country’s leader in transportation and deliveries. This landmark collaboration will provide Grab users with a secure and hassle-free cashless transaction experience by allowing them to add GCash as a direct payment method in the Grab app. Starting in February, GCash will be officially available for use on the Grab platform.
With this partnership, users can select GCash as their payment option and pay for Grab services such as GrabCar, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress, and others with just a few taps on their smartphones. This eliminates transfer fees that can reach as high as PHP 50. Additionally, users will also receive GCash exclusive deals and special treats when they pay with GCash.
“We are committed to making the lives of Filipinos better by delivering a more convenient, secure, and cost-effective way to pay for their rides and food and grocery deliveries. We will continuously innovate and build more partnerships that will improve the lives of Filipinos,” says GCash President and CEO, Martha Sazon.
“Driving wider cashless adoption in the country is key to empowering our stakeholders in a digital-first economy,” says Country Head of Grab Philippines, Grace Vera Cruz. “We are optimistic that through this partnership, we can improve the lives and livelihoods of many Filipinos and build a cashless, digital-first economy for all.”
GCash and Grab have already established a strategic collaboration in the past, providing Filipinos with a safe and seamless digital experience by allowing them to transfer money between their GCash and GrabPay wallets. This latest partnership supports their shared goal of addressing the daily needs of Filipinos and creating a more digitally driven, cash-lite economy. As part of its mission of “Finance for All,” GCash will continue to innovate and form partnerships to offer affordable, convenient, and secure services to make life better for Filipinos.
