In line with the Filipino spirit of giving and its mantra of “Finance for All,” Philippine mobile wallet, GCash, has set up a donation drive to quickly help raise funds for the relief and recovery operations in areas devastated by a magnitude 7.3 earthquake in North Luzon.
GCash is encouraging its users to give through its #GCashGivesBack QR code and pay bill wallet. The donations collected through these channels will be equally distributed to partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs) delivering immediate relief assistance to quake-hit areas particularly the province of Abra as well as nearby areas.
“It’s important that we all come together in providing help to those affected by this calamity. We hope that through these accessible digital channels provided by GCash, we’re able to quickly gather funds to support relief and recovery operations in badly-hit areas. Let us all intensify our efforts in making a positive impact on the lives of one another,” said GCash President and CEO, Martha Sazon.
GCash users can send any amount to help the earthquake victims by scanning the #GCashGivesBack QR Code with the GCash app. They can also donate via the “Pay Bills” feature of the app by tapping “Others”, clicking “#GCashGivesBack”, and typing their information, before clicking “Confirm”. Donations will be sent to GCash’s partner Non-Government Organizations (NGO) conducting relief operations in North Luzon including the UNICEF, Philippine Red Cross, Ayala Foundation, ABS-CBN Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, World Vision, Caritas Manila, and the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF).
Users can also opt to scan the GCash QR code of the various NGOs to directly send funds to them.
Filipinos can download the GCash app for free on the Google Play or App Store. For more information on how you can help, visit the official Facebook page of GCash, https://www.facebook.com/gcashofficial.
