GCash Enhances International Money Transfers with Secure, Official Remittance Partners

Filipinos overseas can instantly send money back home via GCash and its 70 official remittance partners

GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance app and largest cashless ecosystem, has simplified the process for Filipinos abroad to instantly send money home through its network of over 70 official remittance partners.

With international remittance service providers like Western Union, Ria, Remitly, and MoneyGram, Filipinos overseas can securely transfer money directly to the GCash accounts of their family and loved ones. Additionally, GCash now allows more Filipinos abroad to use the app with their international or non-Philippine mobile numbers.

The expansion of GCash internationally provides migrants and overseas Filipinos greater control over their finances. Free, real-time money transfers give recipients in the Philippines easy and hassle-free access to funds. Moreover, GCash users abroad can pay bills—such as utilities, taxes, and tuition—directly through the app. They can also buy load for people back home, ensuring families stay connected through messages and international calls.

“By making GCash accessible to more Filipinos abroad, managing finances is now easier from afar. This helps push our vision of financial inclusion for all Filipinos, wherever they may be in the world,” says Ren-Ren Reyes, president and CEO of GCash mobile wallet operator G-Xchange, Inc.

Following approval from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, GCash has fully expanded its international reach, now available in 16 countries including the US, Canada, Italy, the UK, Australia, Japan, the UAE, Qatar, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Singapore. Filipinos in these countries can now use international mobile numbers to sign up and use the GCash app.

To access GCash outside the Philippines, download the GCash app from Google Play, the App Store, or Huawei AppGallery using an active international SIM card. On the app, select your country, enter your mobile number, and fill out the required personal information to register. Set your MPIN, log in, and prepare a valid ID, such as a Philippine passport, for scanning to verify your account. Complete the facial verification with a selfie, provide additional information, and wait for the SMS confirmation. Once you receive the confirmation, you can enter your MPIN and start using the app.

GCash continues to expand its reach, making a significant difference in the lives of Filipinos globally through safe, convenient digital financial services and equal access to financial opportunities, anytime and anywhere. For more information and a complete list of official partners, visit GCash.
