He’s not just spinning tracks on deck, he’s crafting experiences that will make you want to hear more of his game-changing soundscapes.
Whether you’ve seen his name on the lineups of the hottest clubs and festivals or heard his tracks on SoundCloud or Spotify, Arthur Tan’s music is a constant force. After over 15 years of creative exploration, he is now unveiling a new sound that could be the reason you return to the dance floor.
Before immersing himself in the music world, Arthur dabbled in diverse disciplines, from dance and photography to film and production. Yet, music ultimately captured his heart, leading him to earn a Master’s Degree in Music Technology from New York University. Since then, his journey has only become more exciting.
Entering the music scene has opened many doors for Arthur. Earlier this year, he presented “Curated Frequencies” a spatial and 3D audio event at the Ayala Museum. This sonic exhibition, the first of its kind in the country, showcased his vision. “I wanted it to be an immersive, multi-sensory experience to show that dance music isn’t just about partying—it can be elevated in many ways,” Arthur explained. “From the visuals to the spatial audio and the reactive lights, everything about it was carefully curated.”
During this unique event, Arthur collaborated with other members of After The Noon Records, a music label and artist management company he co-founded. The label is dedicated to supporting a diverse and emerging community of DJs and producers from Asia, aiming to reach audiences worldwide.
Arthur began making waves in 2017, quickly gaining recognition and landing gigs almost every night. His creative prowess, far beyond his years, led him to produce and collaborate with various artists. In 2021, he released the “After the Party” EP under Tarsier Records, capturing the essence of his late-night adventures in New York City and Manila.
As the former Head of A&R for CARELESS, Arthur helped shape the careers of artists like James Reid, Lesha, Massiah, and August Wahh. He also produced official remixes for James Reid’s “Soda” and Nadine Lustre’s “Intoxicated.” His influence extends to nightlife, where he curated experiences as the Music Director for Notorious Concepts, the team behind popular Poblacion spots like HQ, Alamat, and Japonesa.
Arthur’s impact isn’t limited to the local scene; he also has a strong presence in New York as a Resident DJ at Silver Factory NYC and Smithfield Hall NYC. He aims to use his experience to connect Asian talents with global audiences, positioning the region as a hub for DJs and unique musical experiences.
Throughout his diverse creative endeavors, one thing remains constant: Arthur is always ready to deliver fresh beats to those seeking something different. With After The Noon, he’s on a mission to bring Filipino DJ culture and music to the global stage. “Curated Frequencies” was just the beginning, and there’s a good chance you’ll see him take on even more in the future.
While awaiting more exciting projects ahead, you can catch Arthur spinning Dance Music, Stutter House, and blends of Afro, Latin, and World Music. Stay updated on his schedule and follow his journey on Instagram and TikTok, or explore more of his tracks on Spotify and SoundCloud.
