CJ ENM’s production powerhouse Studio Dragon is set to release the fantasy series, Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938, exclusively on Prime Video globally from May 6. The series continues the story of gumiho Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook), who unexpectedly travels back in time to 1938. The show will join Prime Video’s Korean content collection, which includes True to Love, Jinny’s Kitchen, and Island. Prime Video subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and Japan can watch a new episode of the show weekly, every Saturday and Sunday, with a global release later this summer.
Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 brings back beloved characters and introduces a new story, with Lee Dong-wook and Kim Beom reprising their roles as Lee Yeon and Lee Rang. Kim So-yeon and Ryu Kyung-soo will be introduced as new characters integral to the plot. The show follows Lee Yeon’s attempts to return to the present after being summoned to the past and deals with forces determined to take away everyone he loves.
The series promises to transport audiences into a fantasy world while interweaving stories of love and family with action and drama. Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 will be available exclusively on Prime Video from May 6 globally.
