Taking sustainable operations to the next level in the Philippines
Epson’s unwavering commitment to sustainability serves as the common thread across all its initiatives, encompassing product and packaging design, as well as various company actions.
During the business session, Epson Philippines’ Senior Manager of the Vertical Business Department, Noelle Gonzalez, emphasized the company’s dedication to driving sustainable operations in the country.
Aligned with its global vision, Epson is determined to contribute to the realization of a better future as envisioned in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the Philippines, Epson has taken decisive steps by implementing three key actions aligned with its priority SDGs.
Firstly, for Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, Epson will actively promote sustainable products, services, and practices. Secondly, to support Responsible Consumption and Production, Epson will play its part in reducing waste generated from its own products in the Philippine market. This includes active participation in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Extended Producers Responsibility Act and forming partnerships with recyclers and non-governmental organizations dedicated to reducing plastic and packaging recycling. Finally, Epson aims to foster partnerships and expand its network to advocate sustainability to a broader audience, solidifying its position as a thought leader in sustainability within the tech industry, in alignment with the Partnership for the Goals SDG.
Epson Philippines’ President, Masako Kusama, emphasized the need for a collective mindset shift towards embracing a circular economy, akin to the transformative shift that brought about recycling decades ago. She called upon all stakeholders to join hands with Epson on this journey towards a greener future, working together to embrace and champion circularity. Epson Philippines is actively driving towards a sustainable and circular future and invites others to join in their mission for a greener and more environmentally responsible world.
