The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is pleased to welcome its new president, businesswoman, and philanthropist Kaye Tinga. Scheduled to assume office on June 1, 2024, Tinga will have a transition period to familiarize herself with her new role. She will oversee the operations of the CCP, collaborating closely with the management team. Tinga’s presidency was approved by the CCP Board of Trustees following her election during the board meeting on May 15, 2024. Her appointment to the Board came from Malacañang Palace in April 2024. She succeeds early childhood educator Michelle Nikki Junia, who served as president ad interim from September 2023 to March 2024.
Tinga is renowned for her advocacy of Filipino design talents as the co-founder and co-chairperson of the Red Charity Gala, an esteemed annual event celebrating local fashion through the works of renowned Filipino designers. The gala also raises significant funds for charitable causes, including the Philippine Red Cross.
With a background in business economics from the University of the Philippines-Diliman and an MBA from Fordham University, Tinga is the co-founder and managing director of W/17, a home furnishing and accessories brand that collaborates with craftsmen from various regions across the Philippines. Through her leadership, the brand promotes local artisans, cultural skills preservation, and economic development.
Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of creative talents, Tinga serves as a board member of MINT College, a business and creative arts college and senior high school known for its innovative learning experience and pioneering programs.
Married to former Taguig Mayor and Congressman Freddie Tinga, and a mother of four children, Tinga successfully balances her professional and philanthropic endeavors with her family life, as well as her interests in design and travel.
