The award-winning singer-songwriter will be joined by ex-Sugarfree drummer Mitch Singson to honor the album’s lasting impact in the Philippine music scen
In response to overwhelming demand, Ebe Dancel, the renowned Filipino singer-songwriter, is set to reprise his Sa Wakas: 20th Anniversary Celebration concert on March 31, 2023 (Friday) at 123 Block, Mandala Park, starting from 6pm onwards.
To commemorate the timeless legacy of Sugarfree’s iconic debut album, the Sa Wakas The Repeat: 20th Anniversary Celebration will showcase an extended, full-length performance by Ebe Dancel and drummer Mitch Singson, along with special guests and surprises.
The headline show, presented by GNN Entertainment Productions and Backspacer Records, in partnership with 123 Block and Balcony Entertainment, will offer more space to accommodate fans who missed the initial concert that sold out in less than a day. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go towards the hospital and medical expenses of Parokya Ni Edgar guitarist Gab Chee Kee.
Official merchandise for Sa Wakas is available via Backspacer Records’ official website and will be sold at the venue. Sugarfree’s Sa Wakas, which was released in 2003, revolutionized confessional songwriting with anthems that uncover stories and experiences that are often too painful to share in public. The album was critically acclaimed upon its release and went on to inspire a huge following, eventually resulting in an award-winning rock musical centered around its narrative.
